Abstract
There is described herewith an alkaline hydrolysis resistant carpet adhesive comprising an n-butyl acrylate acrylic polymer.

A method of positioning a carpet on a surface comprising:
- forming a film of an alkaline hydrolysis resistant carpet adhesive comprising an n-butyl acrylate acrylic polymer on the surface or applying the adhesive to an underside of the carpet, wherein the surface has a pH above 9,
- positioning the carpet on the surface;
- and
- allowing the adhesive to cure to thereby form a releasable bond between the carpet and the surface.
