Roller assembly and guide for a retractable screen

A roller assembly for a horizontally opening retractable screen having a flexible screen with upper and lower toothed edges;

• upper and lower guide tracks, each said guide track having a respective upper and lower elongate retaining channel in which a respective said upper and lower edge of said flexible screen is received;
• said assembly comprising a roller having an upper end and a lower end onto which said flexible screen is rolled when said screen is open and from which said flexible screen is unrolled when said screen is closed;
• a lower end cap upon which the lower end of the roller is rotatably mounted;
• a lower guide arrangement that includes a lower guide member engageable with said lower end cap that is configured to guide said lower toothed edge of said screen into said lower elongate retaining channel of said lower guide track;
• wherein said lower guide arrangement defines a lower guide passage having a base and a lower exit aperture through which said lower toothed edge passes during unrolling of said screen and which communicates with said lower guide track retaining channel;
• said lower exit aperture is configured such that said lower toothed edge is retained from being pulled out of said exit aperture as it passes therethrough and said lower guide member includes an upwardly inclined guide ramp defining said base of said guide passage for guiding said toothed edge into the exit aperture.
