Systems and methods for governing the disclosure of restricted data

A system that authorizes the sharing of stored data, comprising:

• an asset management system that includes at least one asset;
• a repository that includes a resource related to the at least one asset;
• and
• a data distribution control system that authorizes a third party user of the least one asset to access the resource by providing an access token authorized by a creator of the at least one asset, the third party user being other than the creator of the at least one asset.

A computer program product, comprising:

• a computer readable storage medium having computer readable program code embodied therewith, the computer readable program code comprising:
• computer readable program code configured to select an identifier corresponding to information related to the asset, the information stored at a target repository;
• computer readable program code configured to authenticate an asset creator with the target repository;
• and
• computer readable program code configured to output an authorization token to the asset management system for authorizing one or more third party users to access the information related to the asset, the third party user being other than the asset creator.

A system, comprising:

• a repository that includes a resource related to an asset;
• an asset management system that provides a link from the asset to a resource related to the asset in the repository;
• a control system that authenticates an asset creator with the repository;
• and
• an asset creation device that provides an access token to the asset management system in response to authenticating the asset creator, the access token constructed and arranged to provide access to the resource by other users of the asset.
