Abstract
A system and method for managing battery usage of a mobile device. The power level of the battery is obtains and compared to a threshold level. When the power level is equal to or less than the threshold level, user applications that are operating on the mobile device are identified. Operating user applications that are members of a set of user applications are identified. The execution of the selected user application is suspended or terminated.
Claims21
A system for managing battery usage of a mobile device, the system comprising:
- a battery;
- a memory, wherein the memory comprises computer readable instructions associated with a management application;
- a processor, wherein the processor is communicably coupled to the memory device, and wherein the processor is configured to execute the management application instructions to cause the mobile device to perform operations comprising:
- determining whether a power level of the battery is less than a threshold level;
- suspending or terminating the execution of selected user applications when the power level is equal to or less than the threshold level.
A system for managing battery usage of a mobile device, the system comprising:
- a battery;
- a memory, wherein the memory comprises computer readable instructions associated with a management application;
- a processor, wherein the processor is communicably coupled to the memory device, and wherein the processor is configured to execute the management application instructions to cause the mobile device to perform operations comprising:
- determining whether a battery can support a future power requirement at a time TF based on the first power level and a first power consumption rate at the time T1;
- and
- suspending or terminating the execution of selected user applications when the battery cannot support the future power requirement at time TF based on the first power level and the first power consumption rate.
A system for managing battery usage of a mobile device, the system comprising:
- a battery;
- a memory, wherein the memory comprises computer readable instructions associated with a management application;
- a processor, wherein the processor is communicably coupled to the memory device, and wherein the processor is configured to execute the management application instructions to cause the mobile device to perform operations comprising:
- determining whether a first power level at the state S1 is less than or equal to a first threshold level and greater than a second threshold level;
- and
- suspending or terminating operation of one or more operating user applications when the first power level at the state S1 is equal to or less than the threshold level and greater than a second threshold level, wherein the suspended or terminated operating user applications are designated as members of a first set of user applications.
