Abstract
A method of structuring payments for applications in an online advertising platform includes facilitating the creation of a payment template. The template defines a payment structure to be associated with an application on the online advertising platform. Payment terms for use of the application are generated based on the payment template. The application is provided to a user of the online advertising platform for installation, and a fee is determined that will be collected from the user subsequent to installation of the application. The fee is determined based on the generated payment terms. A system for implementing the method is also provided.

A method, implemented on at least one computer, of structuring payments for applications in an online advertising platform, the at least one computer comprising:
- at least one memory storing computer-executable instructions;
- and
- at least one processing unit for executing the instructions stored in the memory, wherein execution of the instructions results in the at least one computer performing the steps of:
- facilitating creation of a payment template, the template defining a payment structure to be associated with an application on the online advertising platform;
- generating payment terms for use of the application, the generation based on the payment template;
- providing the application to a user of the online advertising platform for installation;
- and
- determining a fee to collect from the user subsequent to installation of the application, the fee based on the generated payment terms.
A system for structuring payments for applications in an online advertising platform, the system comprising:
- at least one memory storing computer-executable instructions;
- and
- at least one processing unit for executing the instructions stored in the memory, wherein execution of the instructions causes the at least one processing unit to:
- facilitate creation of a payment template, the template defining a payment structure to be associated with an application on the online advertising platform;
- generate payment terms for use of the application, the generation based on the payment template;
- provide the application to a user of the online advertising platform for installation;
- and
- determine a fee to collect from the user subsequent to installation of the application, the fee based on the generated payment terms.
