A fluorescence agent comprising, as a fluorescent chromophore, a structure represented by the general formula 2:
- wherein R1, R2, R3, R4 and R5, same or different, represent substituent groups;
- and two or more groups of R1, R2, R3, R4 and R5 may join together to form a ring that does not newly have aromaticity.

A method for developing fluorescence comprising using a compound comprising, as a fluorescent chromophore, a structure represented by the general formula 2:
- wherein R1, R2, R3, R4 and R5, same or different, represent substituent groups;
- and two or more groups of R1, R2, R3, R4 and R5 may join together to form a ring that does not newly have aromaticity.
