Method of extracting kaempferol-based antioxidants from solenostemma arghel

A method of extracting kaempferol 3-rutinoside from Solenostemma arghel, comprising the steps of:

• collecting aerial parts of Solenostemma arghel;
• drying the aerial parts;
• powdering the aerial parts;
• extracting the powdered aerial parts in ethanol and filtering to produce a filtrate;
• concentrating the filtrate to form a concentrated residue;
• dissolving the concentrated residue in water;
• and
• extracting kaempferol 3-rutinoside from the dissolved residue in ethyl acetate.

A method of extracting kaempferol-based antioxidants from Solenostemma arghel, comprising the steps of:

• collecting aerial parts of Solenostemma arghel;
• drying the aerial parts;
• powdering the aerial parts;
• extracting the powdered aerial parts in ethanol and filtering to produce a filtrate;
• concentrating the filtrate to form a concentrated residue;
• dissolving the concentrated residue in water;
• and
• extracting a kaempferol-based antioxidant from the dissolved residue in ethyl acetate.
