Abstract

A polymerizable composition which contains a cycloolefin monomer and a ruthenium carbene complex which is expressed by the following general formula (I): (in which general formula (I), R1 and R2 respectively independently represent a hydrogen atom, halogen atom, or cyclic or chain C1 to C20 hydrocarbon group which may contain a halogen atom, oxygen atom, nitrogen atom, sulfur atom, phosphorus atom, or silicon atom; X1 and X2 respectively independently represent an anionic ligand; L1 and L2 respectively independently represent a neutral electron donor ligand; L2 is a group with a higher three-dimensionally bulk than L1, where L1 and L2 are at cis positions with each other; R1 and R2 may bond with each other to form an aliphatic ring or aromatic ring which may contain a hetero atom; and R1, R2, X1, X2, L1, and L2 may bond with each other in any combination to form a multidentate chelating ligand).
