The present invention relates to compositions comprising 1-hydroxyl 3,5-bis(4′hydroxyl styryl)benzene or a cosmetically acceptable salt thereof, and methods of treating human skin and signs of skin aging using said compositions.

A method of treating a sign of skin aging, comprising topically applying without a voltage to skin in need of such treatment a composition comprising 1-hydroxyl 3,5-bis(4′hydroxyl styryl)benzene or a cosmetically acceptable salt thereof.
