Abstract
The method of producing bioethanol by sugarcane fermentation is improved by using a polyalkylene glycol with a hydroxyl functionality of greater than 2 as a foam controlling agent.

A method of controlling foaming of an aqueous, alcoholic broth fermentation during a fermentation process, the method comprising the step of adding to the broth a foam controlling amount of a polyalkylene glycol (PAG) with a functionality (f) of greater than (>) 2.
