Abstract
There is provided a magenta toner having spectral reflection characteristics, such as high color developability and transparency, and high lightfastness. The magenta toner contains at least a water-insoluble xanthene dye compound having a specific structure and a binder resin.
Claims7
A magenta toner comprising:
- a water-insoluble dye compound represented by formula (1);
- and
- a binder resin:
- [wherein in formula (1), R1, R5, R6, and R10 each independently represent an alkyl group;
- R3 and R8 each independently represent a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, an alkoxy group, or an aryloxy group;
- and R2, R4, R7, and R9 each independently represent a hydrogen atom or an acylamino group represented by formula (2), provided that at least one of R2, R4, R7, and R9 represents an acylamino group represented by formula (2):
- (wherein in formula (2), R11 represents an alkyl group, a cycloalkyl group, an aryl group, an arylalkyl group, an alkenyl group, or a heterocyclic group;
- and * represents a binding site)].
