A supported fuel cell electrocatalyst comprising:
- a support material comprising a Ti—Nb composite oxide having rutile crystal structure;
- and
- a precious metal catalyst supported on the support material.
The supported fuel cell electrocatalyst according to any one of claims I wherein the precious metal catalyst is a platinum catalyst.
A method for the production of a Ti—Nb composite oxide having rutile crystal structure, comprising:
- doping TiO2 with Nb at a temperature 600-800° C. under a weak oxygen atmosphere.
