Device for exciting a landing gear of an aircraft while on the ground

A device for the excitation on the ground of a landing gear of an aircraft, said gear comprising a strut disposed vertically during said excitation, an axle disposed orthogonally with respect to said strut and at least one wheel mounted freely rotatable about said axle, said device comprising:

• an oblong bracing foot, having a vertical axis, able to hold said wheel raised with respect to the ground and comprising a lower part and an upper part connected together by a revolving linkage permitting free rotation, about the axis of said bracing foot, of the upper part of said foot with respect to the lower part, said upper part being able to be applied to the lower end of said strut;
• a support on which said oblong foot is mounted;
• and
• an arrangement operative to set said gear into vibration,
• wherein said support is movable in a horizontal displacement plane, and said arrangement comprises a rotational device in contact with said raised wheel and arranged to drive said raised wheel in rotation about the axis of said axle.
