Abstract
Filter media suitable for various applications and related components, systems, and methods associated therewith are described. The filter media may include a fiber web having a mixture comprising non-fibrillated synthetic fibers and fibrillated fibers, such as lyocell. The fiber web may also include multi-component fibers (e.g., bi-component fibers). In some embodiments, glass fibers are not incorporated into the fiber web.

A fiber web comprising a plurality of non-fibrillated synthetic fibers and a plurality of fibrillated fibers, wherein the fiber web comprises between about 30 weight % and about 95 weight % of the non-fibrillated synthetic fibers and has a dust holding capacity of greater than about 30 g/m2.

A filter media comprising:
- a first layer having a first plurality of non-fibrillated synthetic fibers and a first plurality of fibrillated fibers, wherein the first layer comprises between about 30 weight % and about 95 weight % the first plurality of non-fibrillated synthetic fibers;
- and
- a second layer having a second plurality of non-fibrillated synthetic fibers and a second plurality of fibrillated fibers, wherein the second layer comprises between about 30 weight % and about 95 weight % the second plurality of non-fibrillated synthetic fibers;
- wherein the filter media has a dust holding capacity of greater than about 30 g/m2.

A fiber web comprising a plurality of non-fibrillated synthetic fibers and a plurality of fibrillated fibers, wherein the plurality of fibrillated fibers have a Canadian Standard Freeness level of fibrillation of between about 50 mL and about 850 mL and the fiber web comprises between about 30 weight % and about 95 weight % of the non-fibrillated synthetic fibers.
