Abstract
A method and composition for treating a host infected with hepatitis C comprising administering an effective hepatitis C treatment amount of a described 1′, 2′ or 3′-modified nucleoside or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt or prodrug thereof, is provided.

A method for the treatment of a hepatitis C virus infection in a host, comprising administering to said host an anti-virally effective amount of a β-D-2′-methyl nucleoside or a phosphate thereof, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt or ester thereof.
A method for the treatment of a hepatitis C virus infection in a host, comprising administering to the host an anti-virally effective amount of a compound of Formula XI:
- or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt or ester thereof;
- wherein:
- Base is a pyrimidine base;
- R1 and R2 are each independently H or phosphate;
- R6 is alkyl;
- R7 is halo;
- and
- X is O.
