Abstract
Methods and apparatuses for a User Equipment (UE) to receive signaling of UE-common Downlink Control Information (DCI) in a set of Physical Resource Blocks (PRBs) over a Transmission Time Interval (TTI) are provided. The UE demodulates UE-common DCI using a Reference Signal (RS) that is scrambled by a UE-common scrambling sequence. The UE may assume that RS having a same precoding is transmitted in the set of PRBs over different TTIs. The UE may determine the scrambling sequence implicitly from an identity of a point transmitting the UE-common DCI or explicitly by higher layer signaling. The UE may determine the PRBs of UE-common DCI transmission by broadcast signaling or by higher layer signaling.
Claims20
A method in which a transmission point transmits, to User Equipments (UEs), from a number of antenna ports, Reference Signals (RSs) and Physical Downlink Control CHannels (PDCCHs) in a first set of Physical Resource Blocks (PRBs) and RSs and PDCCHs in a second set of PRBs, wherein a PRB corresponds to resources including a bandwidth over a Transmission Time Interval (TTI), the method comprising the steps of:
- transmitting first RSs in the first set of PRBs over a first TTI;
- transmitting second RSs in the first set of PRBs over a second TTI;
- transmitting third RSs in the second set of PRBs over a third TTI;
- and
- transmitting fourth RSs in the second set of PRBs over a fourth TTI,
- wherein for each antenna port from the number of antenna ports, one of the first RSs has a same precoding as one of the second RSs, and
- wherein for at least one antenna port from the number of antenna ports, one of the third RSs has a different precoding than one of the fourth RSs.
A method for a User Equipment (UE) to determine a set of Physical Resource Blocks (PRBs) for reception of Physical Downlink Control CHannels (PDCCHs), wherein a PRB corresponds to resources that include a bandwidth over a Transmission Time Interval (TTI), the method comprising the steps of:
- receiving at least one broadcast signal from a transmission point;
- determining a value of an information element;
- determining a downlink bandwidth from the at least one broadcast signal;
- and
- determining a location in the downlink bandwidth for each PRB in the set of PRBs from the value of the information element and the downlink bandwidth.
A transmission point apparatus for transmitting to User Equipments (UEs), from a number of antenna ports, Reference Signals (RSs) and Physical Downlink Control CHannels (PDCCHs) in a first set of Physical Resource Blocks (PRBs) and RSs and PDCCHs in a second set of PRBs, wherein a PRB corresponds to resources that include a bandwidth over a Transmission Time Interval (TTI), the apparatus comprising:
- a transmitter configured to:
- transmit first RSs in the first set of PRBs over a first TTI;
- transmit second RSs in the first set of PRBs over a second TTI;
- transmit third RSs in the second set of PRBs over a third TTI;
- and
- transmit fourth RSs in the second set of PRBs over a fourth TTI,
- wherein for each antenna port from the number of antenna ports one of the first RSs has a same precoding as one of the second RSs, and
- wherein for at least one antenna port from the number of antenna ports one of the third RSs has a different precoding than one of the fourth RSs.
A User Equipment (UE) apparatus for determining a set of Physical Resource Blocks (PRBs) for reception of Physical Downlink Control CHannels (PDCCHs), wherein a PRB corresponds to resources that include a bandwidth over a Transmission Time Interval (TTI), the apparatus comprising:
- a receiver configured to receive at least one broadcast signal from a transmission point;
- and
- a processor configured to:
- determine a value of an information element and determining a downlink bandwidth from the at least one broadcast signal, and
- determine a location in the downlink bandwidth for each PRB in the set of PRBs from the value of the information element and the downlink bandwidth.
