Abstract

A method that facilitates optimization analysis and sensitivity analysis of a data model comprises: receiving first data identifying a value function, parameters for the value function, and one or more specific parameter values for one or more of the parameters; storing a data model based on the value function and the specific parameter values; determining which parameters of the data model are capable of taking variable values; receiving second data identifying one or more selected parameters; receiving third data specifying a value selection approach for each of the selected parameters; determining a plurality of result values by substituting, based on the value selection approach, a plurality of input values for each of the selected parameters and evaluating the value function using the selected parameters and the substituted values; and generating and causing displaying a table of the result values.

Dependent claims

A computer system, comprising:

one or more processors;
one or more memories coupled to the one or more processors;
a repository access component, coupled to the one or more processors, that accesses stored values in a data repository;
a model creating component, coupled to the one or more processors and the repository access component, that generates data models that are based on value functions of the stored values and causes storage of data defining the data models;
value function components that produce results for the value functions by performing calculations based on sets of parameters defined by corresponding data models, and on particular values input for the sets of parameters;
one or more input components that receive value function signals that indicate particular value functions, and parameter signals that select parameters from the sets of parameters that correspond to the particular value functions;
one or more value selection components that select particular substitute values for particular selected parameters;
an optimization-sensitivity determining component that determines different results for different evaluations of the value functions;
a table display generating component that generates tables of the results determined by the optimization-sensitivity determining component;
wherein the optimization-sensitivity determining component is configured to determine different results for different evaluations of the particular value functions by evaluating the particular value functions using different combinations of substitute values, selected by the one or more value selection components, as input for parameters selected by the parameter signals;
wherein the table display generating unit is configured to generate a given table in which each cell comprises at least one different result for a given value function, each row of the given table corresponding to at least a different substitute value for a first parameter of the given value function, and each column of the given table corresponding to at least a different substitute value for a second parameter of the given value function.

A method, comprising:

receiving first input selecting parameters from a set of parameters whose values are specified by a data model, the data model having a value function that produces a result based on the values for the set of parameters;
selecting substitute values for the selected parameters by, for each particular parameter of the selected parameters, selecting particular substitute values;
determining a plurality of different results for a plurality of different evaluations of the value function by, for each particular evaluation of the plurality of different evaluations, evaluating the value function using a different combination of substitute values as input for the selected parameters;
generating a table of the results determined using the different combinations of the substitute values, each cell of the table comprising at least one different result for the value function, each row of the table corresponding to at least a different substitute value for a first parameter of the selected parameters, and each column of the table corresponding to at least a different substitute value for a second parameter of the selected parameters;
wherein the method is performed by one or more computing devices.
