User interface control device, user interface control method, computer program and integrated circuit

A user interface control method that provides a user interface for setting, when composing a graphic with a stereoscopic image, a depth at which to position the graphic in the stereoscopic image, the user interface control method comprising:

• a planar position specifying step of specifying with respect to a graphic arranged on one of two viewpoint images forming a stereoscopic image, an area occupied by the graphic in the one viewpoint image;
• a viewpoint image depth acquiring step of acquiring a depth of a subject appearing within the area occupied by the graphic in the one viewpoint image;
• and
• a presenting step of presenting a first alternative and a second alternative for setting a depth of the graphic in the stereoscopic image, the first alternative corresponding to the depth of the subject, and the second alternative corresponding to a depth differing from the depth of the subject.

A computer program for controlling a user interface that provides a user interface for setting, when composing a graphic with a stereoscopic image, a depth at which to position the graphic in the stereoscopic image, the computer program causing a computer to execute:

• a planar position specifying step of specifying with respect to a graphic arranged on one of two viewpoint images forming a stereoscopic image, an area occupied by the graphic in the one viewpoint image;
• a viewpoint image depth acquiring step of acquiring a depth of a subject appearing within the area occupied by the graphic in the one viewpoint image;
• and
• a presenting step of presenting a first alternative and a second alternative for setting a depth of the graphic in the stereoscopic image, the first alternative corresponding to the depth of the subject, and the second alternative corresponding to a depth differing from the depth of the subject.

An integrated circuit of a user interface control device that provides a user interface for setting, when composing a graphic with a stereoscopic image, a depth at which to position the graphic in the stereoscopic image, the integrated circuit comprising:

• a planar position specifying unit configured to specify for a graphic arranged on one of two viewpoint images forming a stereoscopic image, an area occupied by the graphic in the one viewpoint image;
• a viewpoint image depth acquiring unit configured to acquire a depth of a subject appearing within the area occupied by the graphic in the one viewpoint image;
• and
• a presenting unit configured to present a first alternative and a second alternative for setting a depth of the graphic in the stereoscopic image, the first alternative corresponding to the depth of the subject, and the second alternative corresponding to a depth differing from the depth of the subject.
