Abstract
A measurement circuit in a motor circuit generates signals for use in a motor control strategy for an electric motor. The measurement circuit comprises a first current sensing means which produces an output signal indicative of the current flowing in a di/dt path connecting the phases of the motor to a ground or a common positive supply voltage, and further comprises a second current sensing means which produces an output signal indicative of the rate of change of current flowing in the ground line, and in which the second current sensing means comprises a Rogowski coil.
Claims8
A measurement circuit in a motor circuit arranged to generate signals for use in a motor control strategy for an electric motor, the motor having a plurality of phases, the measurement circuit comprising:
- a first current sensing means which produces an output signal indicative of a current flowing in a di/dt path connecting the phases of the motor to at least one of a ground line and a common positive supply voltage, and a second current sensing means which produces an output signal indicative of a rate of change of current flowing in the di/dt path, and in which the second current sensing means comprises a Rogowski coil.
A Rogowski coil located in a di/dt path of a multi phase electric motor which provides an output signal indicative of a rate of change of current in the di/dt path during use of the motor, the output signal being fed to a motor controller.
