Nonfluorinated polyurethanes and methods of making and using thereof

A nonfluorinated polyurethane composition produced by the process comprising

• (a) reacting a silicon polyol with a first polyisocyanate to produce a first mixture comprising (i) a prepolymer comprising at least one isocyanate group and (ii) unreacted first polyisocyanate, wherein the molar ratio of first polyisocyanate to silicon polyol is 2.085:1 to 10:1;
• (b) reacting the first mixture with one or more organic polyols to produce a second mixture, wherein the molar ratio of first polyisocyanate in step (a) to organic polyol is 1.5:1 to 5:1, wherein at least one organic polyol has an ionizable group, and wherein the ionizable group is a neutral group or a salt thereof;
• and
• (c) terminating the reaction after step (b) with water to produce the nonfluorinated polyurethane composition.
