## Abstract

A method for selecting power from two or more circuits made from a multiple circuit duplex module comprising a chassis having an electrical chassis receptacle providing a plurality of connection points for the selection of power from two or more different circuits; a duplex element having at least one electrical duplex receptacle thereon to deliver power from one of the two or more different circuits to an external device in electrical contact with the at least one duplex receptacle; first conductor means for electrically connecting the at least one duplex receptacle to selected connection points in the chassis receptacle; wherein the duplex element is connectable to the chassis in different orientations, the orientation of the duplex element determining which one of the two or more different circuits is electrically connected to the at least one duplex receptacle.

## Claims

### Claim at position 1

1-9. (canceled)

### Claim 10

A method for the selection of power from two or more different circuits, said method comprising the steps of:
providing a chassis with an electrical chassis receptacle having a plurality of connection points therein for selection of power from said two or more different circuits that are electrically connected to said chassis for the supply of said power thereto;
providing a duplex element having at least one electrical duplex receptacle thereon for the delivery of power from one of said two or more different circuits to an external device in electrical contact with at least one receptacle, said duplex element additionally having first conductor means therein for electrical connection to selected connection points in said chassis receptacle, said duplex element being connectable to said chassis in different orientations; and
choosing which one of said two or more different circuits is electrically connected to said at least one duplex receptacle by choosing the orientation in which said duplex element is connected to said chassis.

### Claim 11 (depends on 10)

The method of claim 10, wherein said duplex element is connectable to said chassis receptacle in four different orientations.

### Claim 12 (depends on 10)

The method of claim 10, wherein said duplex element includes a housing having first and second ends, said first conductor means extending into both of said first and second ends, said first and second ends being alternately releasably connectable to said chassis receptacle for placing said first conductor means therein in electrical contact with said selected connection points in said chassis receptacle.

### Claim 13 (depends on 12)

The method of claim 12, wherein the method further comprises detachably connecting one end of said duplex element to the chassis; and closing the second end of the duplex element with a non-conductive cover

### Claim 14 (depends on 12)

The method of claim 12, wherein said duplex element housing further includes a first surface haying at least one electrical duplex receptacle and a second surface having at least one electrical duplex receptacle; and wherein said duplex element can be alternatively attached to said chassis to expose either said first surface or said second surface.

### Claim 15 (depends on 14)

The method of claim 14, wherein when said duplex is connected to said chassis at said first end and said first surface is exposed, power from a first circuit is selected.

### Claim 16 (depends on 14)

The method of claim 14, wherein when said duplex is connected to said chassis at said first end and said second surface is exposed, power from a second circuit is selected.

### Claim 17 (depends on 14)

The method of claim 14, wherein when said duplex is connected to said chassis at said second end and said first surface is exposed, power from a third circuit is selected.

### Claim 18 (depends on 14)

The method of claim 14, wherein when said duplex is connected to said chassis at said second end and second first surface is exposed, power from a fourth circuit is selected.
