Abstract
The present invention provides reagents and methods for biomaterial production from cyanobacteria.
Claims15
A method for producing biomaterials, comprising:
- (a) culturing the cyanobacterial host cells of claim 27;
- (b) harvesting the cyanobacterial host cells;
- and
- (c) preparing biomaterials from the harvested cyanobacterial host cells.

A recombinant Synechocystis PCC 6803 host cell, wherein the host cell comprises an isolated recombinant nucleic acid, comprising:
- (a) a first nucleic acid comprising an inducible cyanobacterial promoter;
- and
- (b) a second nucleic acid operably linked to the first nucleic acid, wherein the second nucleic acid comprises a full length complement to the polynucleotide of SEQ ID NO:1;
- and
- wherein the recombinant host cell is deficient in cyanophycin production.
