The present invention relates to a device to convert the blue light from solid- state sources into white light comprising a transparent polymer matrix with laminar structure, diffusing particles and phosphors.

A solid illuminating device comprising one or more slabs in transparent polymer material, first particles of phosphors, second diffusing particles and one or more blue LEDs characterized in that the blue LEDs are placed along at least one side of said slab.
