Camera and method for recording image files

A camera, comprising:

• an imaging section converting an object image into image data and outputting the image data;
• and
• a storage section storing a still image file for storing still image data obtained by the imaging section and a moving image file for storing image data of a moving image which has been photographed before and/or after photographing of a still image, wherein
• the moving image file has information for effectively reproducing the moving image stored in the moving image file.

A method for recording image files, comprising the steps of:

• converting an object image into image data and outputting the image data by an imaging section;
• and
• storing still image data obtained by the imaging section in a still image file of a storage section, and storing image data of an moving image, which has been photographed before and/or after photographing of a still image, in a moving image file of the storage section, wherein
• the still image file has information for effectively reproducing the moving image stored in the moving image file.
