Abstract
Circuitry for reducing power consumption is described. The circuitry includes a power amplifier. The circuitry also includes a predistorter coupled to the power amplifier. The circuitry further includes a power supply coupled to the power amplifier. The circuitry additionally includes a controller coupled to the power amplifier, to the predistorter and to the power supply. The controller captures a transmit signal and a feedback signal concurrently and determines a minimum bias voltage from a set of voltages and a predistortion that enable the power amplifier to produce an amplified transmit signal in accordance with a requirement.
Claims34
Circuitry for reducing power consumption, comprising:
- a power amplifier;
- a predistorter coupled to the power amplifier;
- a power supply coupled to the power amplifier;
- and
- a controller coupled to the power amplifier, to the predistorter and to the power supply, wherein the controller captures a transmit signal and a feedback signal concurrently and determines a minimum bias voltage from a set of voltages and a predistortion that enable the power amplifier to produce an amplified transmit signal in accordance with a requirement.
A method for reducing power consumption by circuitry, comprising:
- capturing a transmit signal and a feedback signal concurrently;
- and
- determining a minimum bias voltage from a set of voltages and a predistortion that enable a power amplifier to produce an amplified transmit signal in accordance with a requirement.
A computer-program product for reducing power consumption, comprising a non-transitory tangible computer-readable medium having instructions thereon, the instructions comprising:
- code for causing circuitry to capture a transmit signal and a feedback signal concurrently;
- and
- code for causing the circuitry to determine a minimum bias voltage from a set of voltages and a predistortion that enable a power amplifier to produce an amplified transmit signal in accordance with a requirement.
An apparatus for reducing power consumption, comprising:
- means for capturing a transmit signal and a feedback signal concurrently;
- and
- means for determining a minimum bias voltage from a set of voltages and a predistortion that enable a power amplifier to produce an amplified transmit signal in accordance with a requirement.
