Abstract
A dispenser system employs a packaging module for use with moisture sensitive materials. The packaging module comprises an outer carton and an inner bladder, which is substantially impermeable to moisture and is filled with one part of an adhesive. The carton is loaded on a mobile cart and the one part adhesive is supplied to a pump/mixer without exposure to moisture in the atmosphere. The packaging and dispensing system can be used in conjunction with mechanized adhesive application equipment for the construction trades.
Claims12
A dispensing apparatus for a two-part adhesive comprising:
- a cart having a tray and mounting a pump assembly having a pair of inlets and a pair of outlets, each outlet communicating with a hose communicating with a common dispenser;
- a first package enclosing an inner enclosure with a first opening and containing a first adhesive component;
- a second package enclosing an inner enclosure with a second opening and containing a second adhesive component;
- said first and second enclosures each being disposed above said tray;
- a first conduit communicating via a first valved connector assembly between the first opening and one said inlet;
- and
- a second conduit communicating via a second valved connector assembly between the second opening and a second said inlet, wherein said first and second adhesive components are pumped by said pump assembly to said hoses and dispensed through said dispenser.
A method of dispensing a moisture sensitive adhesive with a mobile applicator system comprising:
- a. providing a package having an outer container body and an inner flexible enclosure that is substantially impermeable to moisture and has an opening enclosed by a cap and contains one part of an adhesive;
- b. positioning said enclosure so that said cap is disposed generally below said enclosure;
- c. loading said enclosure onto a tray of said mobile applicator system;
- d. connecting a conduit for communication through said opening without exposing said one part to the atmosphere;
- e. mixing said one part with a second part to form an adhesive;
- and
- f. dispensing said adhesive.
