## Abstract

A client application adapted to be executed by a user device in order to allow a merchant to process payments using proximity events is described. The client application includes sets of instructions for: generating an invoice from the particular merchant to a particular consumer; receiving an indication that a mobile device associated with the particular consumer is within a particular proximity to a proximity sensor associated with the merchant; and sending the invoice to the mobile device associated with the particular consumer.

## Claims

### Claim at position 1

1-20. (canceled)

### Claim 21

A client application adapted to be executed by a user device in order to allow a merchant to process payments using proximity events, the client application comprising sets of instructions for:
generating an invoice from the particular merchant to a particular consumer;
receiving an indication that a mobile device associated with the particular consumer is within a particular proximity to a proximity sensor associated with the merchant; and
sending the invoice to the mobile device associated with the particular consumer.

### Claim 22 (depends on 21)

The client application of claim 21 further comprising sets of instructions for receiving and processing payment information from the particular consumer.

### Claim 23 (depends on 22)

The client application of claim 22 further comprising sets of instructions for generating and sending a receipt to the mobile device associated with the particular consumer if the payment processing is successful.

### Claim 24 (depends on 23)

The client application of claim 23, wherein the client application further comprises sets of instructions for communicating among a consumer client application executed by the particular consumer and a server application executed by a set of server devices.

### Claim 25 (depends on 24)

The client application of claim 24, wherein receiving an indication comprises receiving information from the consumer client application through the server application if the consumer client application determines that the proximity sensor is within a threshold distance to the mobile device associated with the particular consumer and wherein sending the invoice to the mobile device comprises sending the invoice to the server application and instructing the server application to send the invoice to the consumer client application.

### Claim 26 (depends on 24)

The client application of claim 24 further comprising sets of instructions for receiving an order from the mobile device associated with the particular consumer and generating the invoice based at least partly on the order.

### Claim 27 (depends on 26)

The client application of claim 26, wherein the order is verified by a vendor associated with the merchant before generating the invoice.

### Claim 28

A client application adapted to be executed by a user device in order to allow a merchant to place a set of consumers in a queue, the client application comprising sets of instructions for:
receiving an indication that a mobile device associated with a particular consumer from among the set of consumers is within a particular proximity to a proximity sensor associated with the merchant;
adding the particular consumer to a queue associated with provision of at least one element of a set of services and products; and
identifying the next consumer in the queue in order to provide at least one of the elements of the set of services and products.

### Claim 29

The client application of 28, wherein the particular merchant is a restaurant.

### Claim 30

The client application of 28, wherein the particular merchant is a hotel.

### Claim 31

The client application of 28, wherein the particular merchant is a medical service facility.

### Claim 32

The client application of 28, wherein the queue comprises a first in, first out list.

### Claim 33

The client application of 28, wherein identifying the next consumer in the queue comprises verifying that the mobile device associated with the particular consumer is within the particular proximity at the time of providing at least one of the elements of the set of services and products.

### Claim 34

The client application of 28, wherein the mobile device is a smartphone.

### Claim 35

A method of providing mobile payment and queuing based on proximity events, the method comprising:
associating a proximity sensor with a merchant;
providing a point of sale for consumers, wherein the point of sale is associated with the proximity sensor and the merchant; and
providing a consumer application adapted to communicate with the proximity sensor and a set of remote servers.

### Claim 36 (depends on 35)

The method of claim 35 further comprising determining that a mobile device associated with a particular consumer is within a threshold distance of the proximity sensor.

### Claim 37 (depends on 36)

The method of claim 36 further comprising receiving an order from the particular consumer and generating and sending an invoice from the set of remote servers to the mobile device if the mobile device is determined to be within the threshold distance of the proximity sensor, wherein the invoice is based at least partly on the order.

### Claim 38 (depends on 37)

The method of claim 37 further comprising receiving and processing payment information from the mobile device.

### Claim 39 (depends on 38)

The method of claim 38 further comprising sending a receipt to the mobile device.

### Claim 40 (depends on 36)

The method of claim 36 further comprising:
adding the particular consumer to a queue of consumers;
identifying a next consumer in the queue of consumers; and
providing a notification to the next consumer.
