Abstract
A drift condition, or change, in a data structure can be detected and communicated to one or more subscribers. Data structure can be monitored by periodic configurable polling of a data source or on demand polling. Upon detection of a change in the in the data structure, subscribers can be notified of the change and optionally other information such as the identity of the object that changed and nature of the change.
Claims20
A method, comprising:
- employing at least one processor configured to execute computer-executable instructions stored in a memory to perform the following acts:
- checking a data source for a change in structure at a configurable interval;
- and
- notifying one or more subscribers when a change is detected.
A system, comprising:
- a processor coupled to a memory, the processor configured to execute the following computer-executable components stored in the memory:
- a first component configured to detect occurrence of a change in data structure or reference data;
- and
- a second component configured to notify one or more subscribers of the change.
A computer-readable storage medium having instructions stored thereon that enable at least one processor to perform the following acts upon execution:
- automatically monitoring database definition state of a database server external to the database server by periodically polling the database server;
- and
- notifying one or more client-application subscribers upon detection of a change in the database definition state.
