Abstract
A system and method for fiber-composite part simulation. A method includes receiving a part model in a data processing system, the part model representing a part to be manufactured using a fiber composite material. The method includes defining a spine for the part model and defining a spine-based rosette for the part model. The method includes simulating and displaying the part according to the part model, the fiber composite material, the spine, and the spine-based rosette.
Claims24
A method performed by one or more data processing systems, comprising:
- receiving a part model in a data processing system, the part model representing a part to be manufactured using a fiber composite material;
- defining a spine for the part model by the data processing system;
- defining a spine-based rosette for the part model by the data processing system;
- and
- simulating and displaying the part according to the part model, the fiber composite material, the spine, and the spine-based rosette.
A data processing system, comprising:
- a processor;
- an accessible memory;
- and
- a display, the data processing system configured to
- receive a part model, the part model representing a part to be manufactured using a fiber composite material;
- define a spine for the part model;
- define a spine-based rosette for the part model;
- and
- simulate and display the part according to the part model, the fiber composite material, the spine, and the spine-based rosette.
A non-transitory machine-readable medium encoded with executable instructions that, when executed, cause at least one PDM data processing system to:
- receive a part model, the part model representing a part to be manufactured using a fiber composite material;
- define a spine for the part model;
- define a spine-based rosette for the part model;
- and
- simulate and display the part according to the part model, the fiber composite material, the spine, and the spine-based rosette.
