Integrated Fuzzing

A computing device comprising

• a processing system;
• and
• one or more modules operable at least partially via hardware of the processing system to implement a fuzzing system configured to test document object model (DOM) interfaces of a browser, the one or more modules including:
• a container configured as a browser page to perform testing of the DOM interfaces with one or more target pages hosted as subcomponents of the container to separate logic for testing the DOM interfaces from the target pages;
• a replayer configured to reproduce testing runs performed by the container using log files produced during the testing;
• and
• an analyzer to analyze multiple testing runs conducted by the container to generate a coverage assessment that indicates comprehensiveness of testing of the DOM interfaces.

One or more computer-readable storage media storing instructions that, when executed by a computing device, cause the computing device to perform operations to test document object model (DOM) interfaces of a content rendering application including:

• loading a container configured as a document for the content rendering application and containing code sufficient to conduct testing of the document object model (DOM) interfaces;
• and
• iteratively testing the DOM interfaces with multiple target files that are separate from the container by, for each target file:
• hosting the target file as a subcomponent of the container;
• building a document object model (DOM) for the target file;
• parsing the DOM to recognize DOM interfaces invoked by the target file;
• obtaining rules and instructions for making calls into the recognized DOM interfaces;
• making the calls in accordance with the rules and instructions to perform the testing with the target file;
• and
• logging information regarding testing of the target file and failures of the DOM interfaces encountered during the testing.
