Abstract
An extensive computer based online math research system (the “Research System”) having as its foundation an Ontology of mathematics, and utilizing unique and intensive computer support, coordination, data structuring, data storage, computer processing, retrieval capabilities, and data-mining capabilities, and an Ontology editing system that runs on computer software with computer processors and data storage capabilities (the “Ontology Editor System”). The Research System also includes a methodology to enable online reference and data manipulation of the Ontology, and an Internet based search of the concepts of mathematics and applications of mathematics to the sciences on the basis of the Ontology.
Claims31
(canceled)
A method of creating a mathematical research system comprising:
- creating a plurality of concept line items (CLI)s from at least one mathematical problem, wherein a CLI is a mathematical concept expressed as a word phrase;
- defining interrelationships between said CLIs;
- generating, by a computer processor, a mapping of said interrelationships of said CLIs;
- and
- storing said CLIs and said generated mapping in at least one database.
A mathematical research system comprising:
- a plurality of concept line items (CLIs) created from a mathematical problem, wherein a CLI is a mathematical concept expressed as a word phrase;
- a set of defined interrelationships between said CLIs;
- a computer processor operable to generate a mapping of said CLIs and said interrelationships;
- and
- at least one database operable to store said CLIs and said generated mapping.
A method of creating a matrix for a mathematical research system comprising:
- creating a plurality of concept line items (CLIs) from a mathematical problem, wherein a CLI is a mathematical concept expressed as a word phrase;
- defining relationships between said CLIs;
- assigning each said defined relationship a code;
- and
- generating, by a computer processor, said matrix including said CLIs and said codes, wherein said codes identify said defined relationships between said CLIs.
A computer program product comprising a non-transitory computer-readable medium having computer-executable code recorded thereon for causing a processor to perform operations of:
- creating a plurality of concept line items (CLI)s from a mathematical problem, wherein a CLI is a mathematical concept expressed as a word phrase;
- defining relationships between said CLIs;
- assigning each said defined relationship a code;
- and
- generating, by a computer processor, said matrix including said CLIs and said codes, wherein said codes identify said defined relationships between said CLIs.
