Method and System for Providing Data Communication in Continuous Glucose Monitoring and Management System

A method, comprising:

• generating a signal representative of a monitored analyte level from an analyte sensor;
• and
• operatively coupling sensor electronics to the analyte sensor, the sensor electronics including one or more finite state machines and a plurality of discrete logic circuits,
• wherein the finite state machines are configured to control the discrete logic circuits to receive the signal from the analyte sensor and to generate a data stream for transmission.

A method of manufacturing comprising:

• minimizing consumption of power within wearable sensor electronics couplable to an analyte sensor by using a state machine to implement control of discrete logic circuits of the sensor electronics, wherein the discrete logic circuits are configured to receive a signal from the analyte sensor representative of a monitored analyte level and to generate a data stream for transmission;
• and
• at least one of:
• reducing a power supply capacity coupled to the wearable sensor electronics commensurate with the minimized consumption of power, and
• extending an operating life of the wearable sensor electronics commensurate with the minimized consumption of power.

A method, comprising:

• generating a signal representative of a monitored analyte level from an analyte sensor;
• and
• generating a data stream for transmission using less power than required by a programmable processor to generate a data stream for transmission by employing one or more finite state machines and a plurality of discrete logic circuits,
• wherein the finite state machines are configured to control the discrete logic circuits to receive the signal from the analyte sensor and to generate a data stream for transmission.
