Abstract
A method and system include a switch to provide power to a vehicle barrier, A logic based controller is coupled to the switch, and an input device coupled to the logic based controller. A sensor is coupled to the vehicle barrier to provide vehicle barrier performance and maintenance data. The maintenance data may be used to identify maintenance activities to be performed prior to failure of the vehicle barrier.

A system comprising:
- a switch to provide power to a vehicle barrier;
- a logic based controller coupled to the switch;
- an input device coupled to the logic based controller;
- a sensor coupled to the vehicle barrier to provide vehicle barrier performance data.

- actuating a vehicle barrier;
- receiving information generated by actuation of the vehicle barrier;
- and
- using the information received to identify activities to maintain the vehicle barrier in operating condition.
