Abstract
Carrier nanoparticles comprising a polymer containing a polyol coupled to a polymer containing a boronic acid, configured to present the polymer containing a boronic acid to an environment external to the nanoparticle and related compositions, methods and systems.

A polymer containing a boronic acid of formula
- wherein
- R3 and R4 are independently an hydrophilic organic polymer,
- X1 is an organic moiety comprising or ore more of —CH, —N, or —B,
- Y1 is an alkyl group of formula —CmH2m—, in which m is ≧1 or an aromatic group,
- r is 1-1000,
- a is 0-3, and
- b is 0-3.
