Disclosed herein is use of one or more aminopyridines in methods and compositions for treatment of impairments in gait or balance in patients with multiple sclerosis.

A method for treating an impairment in gait and/or balance in a patient with multiple sclerosis, said method comprising administering to the patient an aminopyridine or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.
A method for treating an impairment in stationary balance in a patient with multiple sclerosis, said method comprising administering to the patient 4-aminopyridine in a sustained release composition.
A method for increasing step length, decreasing step width or decreasing turn sway in a patient with multiple sclerosis, said method comprising administering to the patient 4-aminopyridine in a sustained release composition.
