Location reporting with secure user plane location (SUPL)

An apparatus for supporting location services, the apparatus comprising:

• means for receiving, at a terminal, at least one Secure User Plane Location (SUPL) trigger parameter associated with a trigger event;
• means for obtaining at least one location related measurement for the terminal, each location related measurement being associated with a velocity of the terminal;
• and
• means for determining, at the terminal, whether the trigger event has occurred based on the at least one location related measurement for the terminal and the at least one SUPL trigger parameter.

A tangible computer-readable medium, having stored thereon computer-readable instructions for supporting location services at a terminal, comprising instructions configured to cause a computer to:

• receive, at the terminal, at least one Secure User Plane Location (SUPL) trigger parameter associated with a trigger event;
• obtain at least one location related measurement for the terminal, each location related measurement being associated with a velocity of the terminal;
• and
• determine, at the terminal, whether the trigger event has occurred based on the at least one location related measurement for the terminal and the at least one SUPL trigger parameter.

An apparatus for supporting location services at a mobile wireless terminal, the apparatus comprising:

• a processor configured to:
• receive, at the mobile wireless terminal, at least one Secure User Plane Location (SUPL) trigger parameter associated with a trigger event;
• and
• obtain at least one location related measurement for a terminal, each location related measurement being associated with a velocity of the mobile wireless terminal;
• and
• determine, at the terminal, whether the trigger event has occurred based on the at least one location related measurement for the mobile wireless terminal and the at least one SUPL trigger parameter.
