Method and apparatus for providing improved mobility procedure

An apparatus comprising:

• at least one processor;
• at least one memory including computer program code, the at least one memory and the computer program code configured to, with the at least one processor, cause the apparatus at least to perform:
• receive an indication of one or more frequency layers with one or more cells to be measured but not initially reselected;
• obtain measurement results for the one or more cells of the one or more frequency layers;
• and
• cause a report to be provided that includes the measurement results without initiating a cell reselection process.

A computer program product comprising at least one non-transitory computer-readable storage medium having computer-executable program code portions stored therein, the computer-executable program code portions comprising program code instructions for:

• receiving an indication of one or more frequency layers with one or more cells to be measured but not initially reselected;
• obtaining measurement results for the one or more cells of the one or more frequency layers;
• and
• causing a report to be provided that includes the measurement results without initiating a cell reselection process.
