Abstract
A system for heating conveyors which extend outside a wash tunnel of a carwash utilizes concrete structural slabs with heating apparatus embedded in the slab near a top surface and supported adjacent the conveyor. The heating apparatus can be a hydronic system or an electric heating mat embedded in the slabs which prevents water on the slabs or the conveyor from freezing in low ambient temperature conditions.
Claims19
A structural slab apparatus for supporting a conveyor, the apparatus comprising:
- a thermally conductive material formed to provide an upper surface for supporting a moving portion of the conveyor in sliding contact with the upper surface;
- and
- a heater embedded within the thermally conductive material, the thermally conductive material being operable to transfer heat provided by the heater to the upper surface to prevent freezing of fluid when operating the conveyor under low ambient temperature conditions.
A structural slab apparatus for supporting a conveyor, the apparatus comprising:
- a thermally conductive material formed to provide an upper surface for supporting a moving portion of the conveyor in sliding contact with the upper surface;
- and
- means for heating embedded within the thermally conductive material, the thermally conductive material being operable to transfer heat provided by the means for heating to the upper surface to prevent freezing of fluid when operating the conveyor under low ambient temperature conditions.
