Abstract
A laser beam machining device (1) is provided, in which unfocused light (A) from a light exit point (B) is radiated onto a single lens (8), where in the lens (8) focuses the laser light (A) and guides it onto a machining point of a work piece (7). A distance (ma, mb) between the lens (8) and the light exit point (B) and a distance (la, lb) between the lens (8) and the machining point of the workpiece (7) and a distance between the light exit point (B) and the aforementioned machining point can be varied. Moreover, a process of usage of a laser beam machining device (1) is provided.

A laser machining apparatus comprising:
- a light exit outlet configured to emit unfocused laser light;
- a lens situated in the direction of radiation of laser light emitted by said light exit outlet, said lens separated by a first controllably-variable distance from said light exit outlet;
- a laser machining locus disposed after said lens, said laser machining locus separated from said lens by a second controllably-variable distance, said laser machining locus separated from light exit outlet by a third controllably-variable distance;
- a drive system configured to controllably adjust the first controllably-variable distance, the second controllably-variable distance, and the third controllably-variable distance;
- and
- said drive system being operatively connected to said lens and to said light exit outlet.
A process of laser machining comprising steps of:
- providing unfocused laser light from a light exit outlet;
- focusing a laser beam by operating a drive system to controllably adjust a first variable distance between the light exit outlet and a single lens situated in the direction of radiation of laser light emitted by the light exit outlet;
- operating the drive system to controllably adjust a second variable distance between the laser machining locus and the single lens;
- operating the drive system to controllably adjust a third variable distance between the laser machining locus and the light exit outlet;
- providing the focused laser beam to a laser machining locus disposed after the single lens;
- and,
- effecting a laser machining operation with the focused laser beam.
A laser machining apparatus comprising:
- a light exit outlet configured to emit unfocused laser light;
- a lens situated in the direction of radiation of laser light emitted by said light exit outlet, said lens separated by a first controllably-variable distance from said light exit outlet;
- a machining head, said light exit outlet and said lens being disposed in said machining head;
- a laser machining locus disposed after said lens, said laser machining locus separated from said lens by a second controllably-variable distance, said laser machining locus separated from light exit outlet by a third controllably-variable distance;
- a light-transmitting disc positioned between said lens and said laser machining locus;
- a drive system configured to controllably adjust the first controllably-variable distance, the second controllably-variable distance, and the third controllably-variable distance;
- and,
- said drive system being operatively connected to said lens and to said light exit outlet.
