Abstract
An approach is provided in which a computer system receives a request to utilize a locale package for which to display information on a display. The computer system determines that the locale package is not installed on the computer system's operating system and, as such, sends a request to a locale service for a locale source file. The computer system receives the locale source file from the locale service and utilizes the received locale source file to generate the locale package. In turn, the computer system installs the generated locale package on the operating system.
Claims20
A method comprising:
- receiving a request to utilize a locale package at an operating system;
- sending a locale source file request to a locale service in response to determining that the locale package is not installed on the operating system;
- receiving a locale source file from the locale service in response to sending the locale source file request;
- generating the locale package utilizing the received locale source file;
- and
- installing the generated locale package on the operating system.
An information handling system comprising:
- one or more processors;
- a memory coupled to at least one of the processors;
- a set of computer program instructions stored in the memory and executed by at least one of the processors in order to perform actions of:
- receiving a request to utilize a locale package at an operating system;
- sending a locale source file request to a locale service in response to determining that the locale package is not installed on the operating system;
- receiving a locale source file from the locale service in response to sending the locale source file request;
- generating the locale package utilizing the received locale source file;
- and
- installing the generated locale package on the operating system.
A computer program product stored in a computer readable storage medium, comprising computer program code that, when executed by an information handling system, causes the information handling system to perform actions comprising:
- receiving a request to utilize a locale package at an operating system;
- sending a locale source file request to a locale service in response to determining that the locale package is not installed on the operating system;
- receiving a locale source file from the locale service in response to sending the locale source file request;
- generating the locale package utilizing the received locale source file;
- and
- installing the generated locale package on the operating system.
