Discovering real-time conversations

A system comprising:

• one or more computers and one or more storage devices storing instructions that are operable, when executed by the one or more computers, to cause the one or more computers to perform operations comprising:
• receiving, at a server, location information related to a location of a user;
• determining a plurality of real-time conversation objects that are associated with locations within an area related to the received location of the computing device, the location associated with each of the plurality of real-time conversation objects indicating a location of a user at the time the user requested creation of the real-time conversation object;
• and
• sending, to a computing device of the user, information representing the determined real-time conversation objects.

A method comprising:

• receiving, at a server, location information related to a location of a user;
• determining a plurality of real-time conversation objects that are associated with locations within an area related to the received location of the user and associated with a threshold level of message activity over a certain period of time;
• and
• sending, to a computing device of the user, information representing the selected real-time conversation objects.
