System and method for managing transactions in a digital marketplace

A non-transitory machine-readable medium in communication with at least one processor, the non-transitory machine-readable medium storing instructions which, when executed by the at least one processor of a machine, causes the machine to perform operations comprising:

• receiving a transaction request involving a digital good;
• determining whether the transaction involves a purchase of the digital good;
• based on the transaction involving the purchase of the digital good, determining whether an overlap in inventory or a related item involving the digital good exists;
• based on the overlap in inventory existing, creating a sub-collection of the inventory with which to complete the transaction request;
• and
• based on existence of the related item, creating a combination package including the digital good and the related item to be offered in response to the transaction request.

A system comprising:

• at least one processor of a machine;
• a determination module configured to receive a transaction request involving a digital good and determine whether the transaction involves a purchase of the digital good;
• a collection module configured to determine, using the at least one processor, whether an overlap in inventory exists based on the transaction involving the purchase of the digital good;
• and
• a package module configured to determine whether a related item involving the digital good exists based on the transaction involving the purchase of the digital good;
• based on the overlap in inventory existing, the collection module further configured to create a sub-collection of the inventory with which to complete the transaction request;
• and
• based on existence of the related item, the package module further configured to create a combination package including the digital good and the related item to be offered in response to the transaction request.
