Information System for Automotive, On-Vehicle Device and Server Device

An on-vehicle device installed in a vehicle, comprising:

• an acceleration/deceleration change detection unit that detects an acceleration/deceleration change of the vehicle;
• a statistical parameter calculating unit that calculates, based upon history of acceleration/deceleration changes detected by the acceleration/deceleration change detection unit, statistical parameters to be used to estimate an extent of energy consumption or energy regeneration in correspondence to each link among the links individually set in correspondence to specific road segments;
• and
• an estimating unit that estimates, based upon the statistical parameters calculated for each link by the statistical parameter calculating unit, the extent of energy consumption or energy regeneration expected to occur at the vehicle as the vehicle travels on a planned travel route.

A server device, comprising:

• a reception unit that receives acceleration/deceleration information transmitted from each vehicle among a plurality of vehicles, pertaining to an acceleration/deceleration change of the vehicle;
• a statistical parameter calculating unit that calculates, based upon the acceleration/deceleration information received by the reception unit, statistical parameters to be used to estimate an extent of energy consumption or energy regeneration in correspondence to each link among links individually set in correspondence to specific road segments;
• and
• an estimating unit that estimates, based upon the statistical parameters calculated for each link by the statistical parameter calculating unit, the extent of energy consumption or energy regeneration expected to occur at an estimation target vehicle as the estimation target vehicle travels on a planned travel route.
