Abstract
This invention provides for a device and methods of dispensing a precise predetermined volume of liquid of discrete drops, vapor, or mist while preventing contamination due to Pull Back and ensuring precision dispensing.
Claims20
A liquid dispensing devise for dispensing a precise quantity of a liquid into the Ophthalmic Environment of an user comprising:
- a reservoir comprising a rigid portion cohered to a Highly Sensitive Flexible Foil portion, wherein the rigid portion and the Highly Sensitive Flexible Foil potion are capable of containing a volume of 1 mL to 20 mL of a liquid and the Highly Sensitive Flexible Foil Portion can be capable of responding to the pressure differential caused by a lost volume as low as 0.4 micro liters;
- and
- a liquid fluid path providing a fluid connection between the reservoir, a pump and a Dispensing Tip and wherein the Dispensing Tip may be positioned towards an eye.
A method of preventing Pull Back in a liquid dispensing medical device, the method comprising:
- containing a volume of a liquid in a reservoir comprising a rigid portion cohered to a Highly Sensitive Flexible Foil portion, wherein the rigid portion and the Highly Sensitive Flexible Foil potion are capable of containing a volume of 1 mL to 20 mL of a liquid and the Highly Sensitive Flexible Foil Portion can be capable of responding to the pressure differential caused by a lost volume as low as 0.4 micro liters;
- and
- a liquid fluid path providing a fluid connection between the reservoir, a pump and a Dispensing Tip.
