Abstract
A device, kit and method thereof for removing an orthopedic cast.
Claims20
A cast removal kit comprising:
- an elongated cord comprising an abrasive, a first end, and a second end and
- an elongated sleeve comprising a longitudinal slit positioned along at least a portion of said elongated sleeve, said sleeve enclosing at least a portion of said elongated abrasive cord;
A method of manufacturing a cast removal device, comprising:
- combining as a single integral unit an abrasive cord, one or more grips positioned at least one end of said abrasive cord, and an elongated protective sleeve enclosing said abrasive cord, and one or more grip handles.
A method of removing a cast materials from a body part, comprising:
- applying tension to an elongated abrasive cord positioned under said cast material and over the skin of said body part;
- moving said elongated cord to and fro;
- removing said cast from said body part.
A method for applying removable cast material to a body part, comprising:
- providing an elongated cord comprising an abrasive;
- positioning said elongated cord above the skin of said body part;
- applying said cast material over said elongated cord.
