Method for deploying a cellular communication network

A system for deploying a communication network, comprising:

• one or more circuits for use in a communication network that comprises in an initial state a plurality of cells, with each cell comprising at least a base station and one or more antennas that are arranged to cover the cell, the one or more circuits being operable to reconfigure the communication network from an initial state to a reconfigured state, wherein the reconfiguring comprises:
• selecting from the plurality of cells, one or more non-adjacent cells to be used as one or more central cells in the reconfigured state;
• and
• for each central cell:
• configuring a super-cell comprising the central cell and at least a part of one or more cells adjacent to the central cell, wherein:
• the configuring comprises arranging in base stations of the one or more adjacent cells, one or more antennas to be directed towards the central cell,
• the base stations of the one or more adjacent cells define an outline of the super-cell, and
• antennas of the super-cell comprise the antennas of the one or more adjacent cells that are directed towards the central cell;
• and
• coordinating use of the antennas of the super-cell so as to communicate with one or more communication devices located within the super-cell, wherein signals from the antennas of the super-cell use at least a same channel resource.
