Abstract
A method includes communicating with a first wireless network of a first type, and obtaining a location-based operating parameter from the first wireless network. The method further includes checking the validity of the location-based operating parameter obtained from the first wireless network. If the location-based operating parameter obtained from the first wireless network is not valid, then the method further includes searching for a second wireless network of a second type, and updating the location-based operating parameter from the second wireless network.

A method, comprising:
- communicating with a first wireless network of a first type;
- obtaining a location-based operating parameter from the first wireless network, wherein the location-based operating parameter is a mobile country code;
- checking the validity of the location-based operating parameter obtained from the first wireless network;
- and
- if the location-based operating parameter obtained from the first wireless network is not valid, then
- searching for a second wireless network of a second type, and
- updating the location-based operating parameter from the second wireless network.
