A portable terminal includes a motion detecting unit that detects a motion of the portable terminal; an authentication information storage unit that stores therein authentication information for use in user authentication; and an authenticating unit that execute user authentication process based on the motion and the authentication information.

- a motion detecting unit that detects a motion of the portable terminal;
- an authentication information storage unit that stores therein authentication information for use in user authentication;

- an authenticating unit that execute user authentication process based on the motion and the authentication information.
An authentication method comprising:
- detecting a motion of a portable terminal;
- storing authentication information for use in user authentication in a storage unit;
- and
- executing user authentication based on the motion and the authentication information.
A computer program product comprising a non-transitory computer-readable medium including programmed instructions that cause a computer to execute:
- detecting a motion of a portable terminal;
- storing authentication information for use in user authentication in a storage unit;
- and
- executing user authentication based on the motion and the authentication information.
