A positive electrode for a lithium rechargeable battery, the positive electrode comprising:
- a positive electrode active material;
- a binder;
- and
- a positive electrode additive represented by the following Formula 1:
- wherein R is a substituted or unsubstituted C1 to C10 alkyl group or a substituted or unsubstituted C5 to C30 aryl group and n is 0 or 1.

- a positive electrode;
- a negative electrode;
- a separator;

- an electrolyte,
