Abstract
A lithium ion battery electrode includes an electrode material layer. The lithium ion battery electrode further includes a current collector. The current collector is located on a surface of the electrode material layer. The current collector is a carbon nanotube layer. The carbon nanotube layer consists of a number of carbon nanotubes.

A lithium ion battery electrode comprising:
- an electrode material layer;
- and
- a current collector, wherein the current collector is a carbon nanotube layer consisting of a plurality of carbon nanotubes.
A lithium ion battery cathode comprising:
- a cathode material layer comprising a plurality of cathode active material particles;
- and
- a carbon nanotube layer stacked with the cathode material layer, wherein the carbon nanotube layer consists of a plurality of carbon nanotubes.
